Part 1
This is the first half of the final Harry Potter movie for the entire series. In this one, Harry, Ron, and Hermione go on the treck that Dumbledore sent them on to find all the lost Horcruxes and destroy them all, but it won't be easy.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are fugitives from the law when the Death Eaters have taken over the Ministry of Magic and there is a 10,000 galleon price for anyone who turns in Harry to the Death Eaters so Voldemort will kill him, (and be keen to this, only Voldemort's allowed to kill Harry. The Dark Lord told all Death Eaters not to kill Harry because Voldemort wants Harry for himself).
Harry doesn't know what the horcruxes look like, where they are, and he doesn't have any means of destroying them. While Harry is on this quest, he keeps having little glimpses into Voldemorts mind and he sees that The Dark Lord is also on a quest, but Voldemorts quest is to find a wand that Harry has never heard of, and when Harry investigates this a bit, his leads take him to a mysterious story about "The Deathly Hallows". So, while Harry is looking for the Horcruxes and learning more about "The Deathly Hallows", he finds himself into more danger that he's ever been in before (as if he can get into any more danger). And when danger calls, people die... and in the last thriller of the Harry Potter series, fight breaks out and a lot of people die, and you will be in tears during every minute of this movie only to be in even more tears when it's over.
Part 2
Following Dumbledore's death, Voldemort has completed his ascension to power and gains control of the Ministry of Magic. Harry, Ron, and Hermione drop out of school so that they can find and destroy Voldemort's remaining three horcruxes. To ensure their own safety as well as that of their family and friends, they are forced to isolate themselves. All that they know about the Horcruxes are that two are likely objects that belonged to the Hogwarts founders Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff, and that the third is Voldemort's snake. The locations of the two founder's objects are unknown, and the snake is presumed to be with Voldemort himself. As they search for the horcruxes, the trio learn details about Dumbledore's past, as well as Snape's true motives.
The trio recovers the first of Voldemort's horcruxes, a locket, by infiltrating the Ministry of Magic. They then recover the Sword of Godric Gryffindor, which can be used to destroy horcruxes. They quickly destroy the locket. After this, they learn the secret of the Deathly Hallows from an eccentric wizard named Xenophilius Lovegood. The Deathly Hallows are revealed to be three sacred objects: the Resurrection Stone, a stone with the power to bring others back to life; the Elder Wand, an unbeatable wand; and an infallible Invisibility Cloak. Harry learns that Voldemort is after the Elder Wand, but the trio decides that discovering Voldemort's Horcruxes are more important than procuring the wand for themselves. They next break into a vault at the wizarding bank, Gringotts, and recover another horcrux, the cup of Helga Hufflepuff. Harry learns that another horcrux is hidden in Hogwarts, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione enter the school. They find the horcrux, the Diadem of Ravenclaw, and destroy both.
The movie culminates in the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione, in conjunction with students and members of the wizarding world opposed to the rise of Voldemort, defend Hogwarts from Voldemort, his Death Eaters, and various magical creatures. Several major characters are killed in the first wave of the battle. In an effort to save the survivors, Harry surrenders himself to Voldemort, who attempts to kill Harry. The battle resumes, and with the last horcrux destroyed, Harry is able to defeat Voldemort. An epilogue describes the lives of the surviving characters and reveals that peace has returned to the wizarding world.
