The Next Three Days

(12)

Life seems perfect for John Brennan (Russell Crowe) until his wife, Lara (Elizabeth Banks) is arrested for a murder she says she didn't commit.

Three years into her sentence, John is struggling to hold his family together, raising their son and teaching at college while he pursues every means available to prove her innocence. With the rejection of their final appeal, Lara becomes suicidal and John decides there is only one possible, bearable solution: to break his wife out of prison.

Refusing to be deterred by impossible odds or his own inexperience, John devises an elaborate escape plot with the help of an ex con (Liam Neeson) and plunges into a dangerous and unfamiliar world, ultimately risking everything for the woman he loves.

Great movie, keeps you guessing all the way through the movie, I've seen a lot of thrillers and the plot twists and turns are well done. One of the best thrillers I've seen. Cast are all great.

Whiteout

(15)

Antarctica; cold, desolate, nothing but ice and snow for miles and miles. Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) is a U.S Marshal, and she's made the ice her home. In its vastness, she has found a place where she can forget her troubled past and feel at peace... until someone commits a murder in her jurisdiction and that peace is shattered. The murder is one of five men scattered across the continent, and he has more reason to hide than just the slaying. Several ice samples were taken from the area around the body, and the depth of the drilling signifies something particular was removed. Enter Lily Sharpe , who wants to know what was so important that another man's life had to be taken for it. But are either of the women prepared for the secrets and betrayals at the core of the situation?

Based on the award-winning graphic novel of the same name and starring Kate Beckinsale, Whiteout is a chilling thriller from legendary producer Joel Silver, that will have you on the edge of your seat and chilled to the bone.

Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerrit, Columbus Short, Alex O'Loughlin, Shawn Doyle, Joel S. Keller, Jesse Todd, Arthur Holden, Erin Hickock.

Entertaining movie, I like the Kate Beckinsale movie but this is not as good as some of her other movie but still good, As it stands the plot is reasonable but predictable but worth a watch!

Law Abiding Citizen

(18)

Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is a family man whose wife (Brooke Stacy Mills) and daughter (Ksenia Hulayev) were brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Against his will, Rice is forced to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Rice: either fix the flawed justice system, or key players in the trial will die.

Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations. Rice finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who always seems to be one step ahead.

Colm Meaney, Bruc McGill, Leslie Bibb, Michael Irby, Geogory Itzin, Regina Hall, Christian Stolte, Annie Corley, Richard Portnow, Viola Davis, Michael Kelly, Josh Stewart.

Absolutely brilliant movie, one of the best crime movies I've ever seen. If you like crime movies this is one for you.

She Said No

(15)

A successful career woman (Veronica Hamel) is raped by a prominent lawyer. However, when she takes the case to court, it results in a hung jury. When the DA's office declines to retry the case, the lawyer opts to sue the woman for malicious prosecution and slander leaving her feeling raped again.

Lee Grant, Ray Baker, Mariclare Costello, Arthur Rosenberg, Rae Allen, Stan Ivar, Teddi Siddall, Deborah White, Isobel Estorick, Becky Ann Baker.

This is one of the better TV movies to come out of America in the early 1990s. This is a great court room drama and well worth a watch. It about a woman who has been raped by a lawyer, he is proven to be not guilty, and tries to sue the woman for slander, and he is his own attorney.

Wanted

(18)

Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov - creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series - Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice.

25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock punching rut.

Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).

After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.

With wickedly brilliant tutors - including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman) - Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

Terence Stamp, Thomas Kretschmann, Common, Kristen Hager, Marc Warrren, David O'Hara.

From the moment I seen the trailer for this I wanted to see it and I Wasn't disappointed either it was fantastic. Great action scenes and a great bonus Morgan Freeman was in it, one of my favourite actors. If haven't yet seen I do recommend you watch it!!!

To Young to Die

(18)

Too Young To Die:By the age of 14, Amanda Sue Bradley (Juliette Lewis) has already suffered a lifetime of cruelty and neglect. She's alone in the world and desperate for love. All too easily, she falls prey to a seductive hustler who introduces her to a tawdry world of strip joints and drug abuse. One night, high on speed and alcohol, they take off on a murderous spree. Their victim: the one man who has ever shown Amanda love and compassion. Amanda is arrested for the kill and the crime is so brutal that, despite her age, she face trial as an adult.

Michael Tucker, Brad Pitt, Alan Fudge,
Emily Longstreth, Laurie O'Brien, Yvette Heyden,
Tom Everett, Michael O'Keefe, Dean Abston.

This is a good movie, based on true events. Amanda's life has never been perfect, and then she is raped by her stepfather. Sadly there is very few ways to support yourself, when you are 14 years old. She lies, says she 18 and she gets a job in a stripping club. She start going around with the wrong people. I would recommend to all who loves true story.

Vantage Point

(12)

8 Strangers, 8 Points of view... 1 Truth.

Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are two Secret Service agents assigned to protect President Ashton (William Hurt) at a landmark summit on the global war on terror. When President Ashton is shot moments after his arrival in Spain, chaos ensues and disparate lives collide. In the crowd is Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker), an American tourist videotaping the historic event to show his kids when he returns home. Also there is Rex (Sigourney Weaver), an American TV news producer who is reporting on the conference. It's only as we follow each person's perspective of the same 15 minutes prior to and immediately after the shooting that the terrifying truth behind the assassination attempt is revealed.

What a great movie. Plots about assassinations are always exciting but this had a great twist to it, being that the same event was repeated from different character's view. What follows is a hair-raising events, each character noticing different significant moments that no one else knew of. A really good movie and some great performances from Quaid and Hurt.

We own the Night

(15)

New York, 1988: A new breed of narcotics has swept the great city, bringing with it a ferocious crime wave more terrifying than any in recent memory. Outmanned and outgunned by the new criminal order, the police find themselves burying one of their own at the rate of two a month. An all-out war rages, threatening to engulf guilty and innocent alike.

Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix) is caught in the crossfire. Manager of a Russian nightclub in Brighton Beach frequented by gangsters like Vadim Nezhinski (Alex Veadov), Bobby keeps his distance, not wanting to get involved. Bobby harbours a secret though...one that could threaten his and his family's lives. His brother is a police Lieutenant and when all out war between the two factions breaks out, Bobby must choose a side.

Eva Mendes, Robert Duvall, Dominic Colon, Danny Hoch,
Oleg Taktarov, Moni Moshonov, Antoni Corone.

An excellent movie, everything about this is quality - Joaquin Phoenix demonstrates once again just how a great an actor he is. Well worth watching.

Shooter

(15)

Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahberg), one of the world's great marksmen and the son of a Congressional Medal of Honoree, is a loner living in the Rockies. He's left the military, having been hung out to dry in a secret Ethiopian mission a few years before, when he's recruited by a lisping colonel to help find a way that the President of the US might be assassinated in one of three cities in the next two weeks. He does his work, but the shot is fired notwithstanding and Bob Lee is quickly the fall guy: wounded and hunted by thousands, he goes to ground and, aided by two unlikely allies, searches for the truth and for those who double-crossed him. All roads lead back to Ethiopia.

Michael Pena, Danny Glover, Kate Mara, Elias Koteas, Rhona Mitra, Jonathan Walker, Justin Louis.

Fantastic movie from start to finish. This movie is defiantly worth watching and I can promise you that you will not be disappointed!!!

Man on Fire

(18)

A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding a growing sense of panic among its wealthier citizens, especially parents. In one six-day period, there were twenty-four abductions, leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. Into this world enters John Creasy (Denzel Washington), a burned-out ex-CIA operative/assassin, who has given up on life. Creasy's friend Rayburn (Christopher Walken) brings him to Mexico City to be a bodyguard to nine-year-old Pita Ramos, daughter of industrialist Samuel Ramos (Marc Anthony) and his wife Lisa (Radha Mitchell). Creasy is not interested in being a bodyguard, especially to a youngster, but for lack of something better to do, he accepts the assignment. Creasy barely tolerates the precocious child and her pestering questions about him and his life. But slowly, she chips away at his seemingly impenetrable exterior, his defenses drop, and he opens up to her. Creasy's new-found purpose in life is shattered when Pita is kidnapped. Despite being seriously wounded during the kidnapping, he vows to kill anyone involved in or profiting from the kidnapping. And no one can stop him.

Giancarlo Giannini, Rachel Ticotin, Jesus Ochoa, Mickey Rourke.

One of Denzel Washingtons best movies ever. Constant action throughout the movie, and it kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole movie. A movie you'll watch over and over, I just loved it!

Amy Fisher: My Story

(15)

This sensational true story of a near fatal attraction left Mary Jo Buttafuoco paralyzed for life and made Amy Fisher (Noelle Parker) America's most infamous teenager. Imprisoned 5-15 years for a crime she confessed to Fisher has nothing to lose by telling how it was-her way, her story. Deception, Promiscuous Sex, and Violence.

Ed Marionaro, Boyd Kestner, Pierrette Grace, Lawrence Dane, Kate Lynch, Kathleen Laskey.

This movie was based on a true story.

It is the best version of this movie. Acting by Noelle Parker was brilliant!! She was perfect for the role. No one else could have played Amy Fisher the way she did. It really tells the true story of Amy Fisher. I would recommend this move to all.

The Amy Fisher Story

(12)

The second of three made-for-TV movies detailing the life of the so-called Long Island "Lethal Lolita" Amy Fisher (played this time by Drew Barrymore) a rebellious, unsure-of-herself 16-year-old girl who became sexually involved with Joey Buttafuoco (Anthony John Denison), a married, 30-something, auto mechanic, in which the unbalanced Fisher planned and shot Buttafuoco's wife in August 1992 in which he may or may not have coerced Fisher into doing the deed, and then denying any involvement with her.

This movie was pretty boring. This one was way too serious and it did not seem to tell the true story of Amy Fisher. If you want to see a good one, see the one with Noelle Parker as Amy.

Horsemen

(18)

Aidan Breslin (Dennis Quaid) is a bitter detective emotionally distanced from his two young sons following the untimely death of his devoted wife. While investigating a series of murders of rare violence, he discovers a terrifying link between himself and the suspects in a chain of murders that seem to be based on the Biblical prophecies concerning the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.

Ziyi Zhang, Lou Taylor Pucci, Clifton Collins Jr. Barry Shabaka Henley, Patrick Fugit, Eric Balfour, Paul Dooley, Thomas Mitchell, Liam James.

This movie was really good, I am a big fan of Dennis Quaid. The only thing is that I had already guest that Ziyi Zhang (Kristin) was part of the Horsemen. Right from the beginning.

Endles Nights

(15)

Victim...or killer?

A young chauffeur, after marrying his beautiful and wealthy boss, thinks he has it all until he finds that their 'dream' house is more of a nightmare to inhabit. After taking up residence, their lives take a decided change for the worse...

I enjoyed this movie. There were a few well known actors in it. It was quite spooky in parts with a surprising twist at the end.

Robocop 3

(15)

Delta City, an opulent, epicurean high-rise -- scheduled to replace a Detroit tenement -- is the business venture of a major Japanese corporation controlled by evil millionaire Kanemitsu. And mega-conglomerate Omni Consumer Products (OCP) has been hoping to get in on the gravy train by pandering to the Japanese corporation and dispatching its legion of armed forces to evict impoverished tenants. But when RoboCop joins the underground guerrilla army of homeless united against multinational conglomerate appropriation, there will be more opposition than anyone bargained for.

Robocop 3, what can I say?!:) I love this movie! It is a truly great sequel, much better than Robocop 2, which though I enjoyed, it does not compare with Robocop 3. What I like about this movie, was that the violence was toned down somewhat, the makers of these movies must have realised Robocop had a huge fan base of under 16's.

Robocop 2

(18)

An even darker, more violent sequel to the dark and violent original. This time around, in addition to the corporate goons who are busy exploiting the blighted city of Detroit, RoboCop must battle a psychotic drug lord known as Cain and his vicious, foul-mouthed, 12-year-old assistant. Now that his own brain has been zapped by a potent new drug known as Nuke, Cain plans to market the substance to the citizens of Detroit. The diabolical drug dealer soon proves to be not only evil, but indestructible; when RoboCop finally succeeds in killing him, Cain is resurrected as RoboCop 2 and embarks on a rampage of murder and destruction.

This movie is a lot more violent than the first one. The movie still manages to entertain on a large level. I personally think it is still pretty good.

Robocop

(18)

Peter Weller stars in this urban sci-fi Western as Murphy, a good cop who literally gets shot to pieces while on duty and winds up reborn as a crime-fighting machine. An ambitious executive (Miguel Ferrer) at OCP, the corporation running the futuristic city of Detroit, fuses Murphy's torso with bulletproof steel limbs and rewires his brain with computer chips so he will have no will of his own. Murphy’s former partner (Nancy Allen) tries to help RoboCop remember his human past, but his circuitry blocks whatever dim memories remain. Luckily, a chance encounter with one of his killers wakes up the human essence in RoboCop, causing him to rebel against his programming and commence on a one-cyborg mission of vengeance that leads all the way to the top of OCP.

If you like violence, action, and alot of swear words Robocop is a must see. The story is simple a with peter weller). The actors are played well, especially Peter Weller & Miguel Ferrer. Great from start to finish.
