My Left Foot

(15)

Based on the story of Christy Brown, this highly acclaimed film depicts his struggle for a normal life. Born with cerebral palsy into a poor, working-class Irish family, Christy was able only to control movement in his left foot and to speak in guttural sounds. With the help of his strong-willed and dedicated family and his own sheer courage and determination, Christy not only learns to grapple with life's simple physical tasks and complex psychological pains, but he also develops into a brilliant painter, poet and author.

Daniel Day-Lewis and Brenda Fricker give Oscar winning performances in an emotional tale of life, love and one family's incredible sense of courage. Also star Declan Croghan, Ray McAnally, Hugh O'Connor, Fiona Shaw, and Ruth McCabe.

This is a brilliant movie, only watched it the other week. Christy Brown suffers from a cerebral palsy and he has a lot of courage. The movie is based his life, it is enjoyable for all the family. If you haven't yet seen it I recommend you watch it!

Star Trek 2009

(12)

On the day of James Kirk's birth, his father dies on his ship in a last stand against a mysterious alien vessel. He was looking for Ambassador Spock (Leonard Nimoy), who is a child on Vulcan at that time, disdained by his neighbors for his half-human nature. Twenty years later, Kirk (Chris Pine) has grown into a young troublemaker inspired by Capt. Christopher Pike (Bruce Greenwood) to fulfill his potential in Starfleet even as he annoys his instructors like young Lt. Spock (Zachary Quinto). Suddenly, there is an emergency at Vulcan and the newly commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Nyota Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Hikura Sulu (John Cho), Pavel Chekov (Anton Yelchin) and even Kirk himself thanks to Leonard McCoy's (Karl Urban) medical trickery. Together, this crew will have an adventure in the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever even as the new version of it is just beginning.

Eric Bana, Simon Pegg, Ben Cross, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Morrison, Rachel Nichols.

I went to the cinema to see this movie, and it was absolutely brilliant on the big screen. I am a big Star Trek fan, grew up watching TV shows and watched I've seen all the movie. Cant wait till it comes out on DVD (16/11/2009) to add to my collection. One fantastic movie that I would recommend to all!!!
