The Sorcerer's Apprentice

(PG)

Magic is everywhere in Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice - the fun family adventure from the creators of National Treasure.

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a modern-day sorcerer with his hands full defending Manhattan against dark forces. When a seemingly average kid shows hidden potential, Balthazar takes his reluctant recruit on a crash course in the art and science of magic to become the ultimate sorcerer's apprentice. Experience more extraordinary thrills, heart-stopping action and spectacular special effects than you can imagine as these unlikely partners show us that the real world is far more magical than we ever knew!

This movie is excellent for all of the family, but could be a bit scary for very small children. There is nothing very original here, but this is a couple of hours of good old fashioned excellent entertainment.

Season Of The Witch

(15)

A heroic crusader (Nicolas Cage - Knowing, Drive Angry) and his close ally (Ron Perlman - Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) return home after decades of fierce fighting to find their world destroyed by the Plague.

Believing a witch to be responsible for the devastation, they are commanded by the church Cardinal (Christopher Lee - Lord of The Rings) to transport the girl to a remote monastery where monks will perform an ancient ritual to rid the land of her curse.

But they soon discover the girl's dark secret and find themselves battling a powerful and destructive force that will determine the fate of the world forever.

I am a big fan of Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. What to say Nicolas Cage & Ron Perlman pure great acting in this movie. Great story, action from start to finish.

Skyline

(15)

Don't look up!

The residents of Los Angeles are awakened in the dead of night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into thin air.

They soon discover an otherwordly alien force swallowing the entire population. Now our band of survivors must fight for thier lives as their world unravels around them.

Who or what are these extraterrestrials and how long before the humans succumb to the relentless onslaught of the alien hordes?

Skyline is a high velocity special effects bonanza in the tradition of Cloverfield and 2012.

Great movie, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Keeps you on the edge of ur seat all the way through. If you like a great sci-fi this is the one for you!

Battle: Los Angeles

(12)

Witness the end of civilization unfold as hostile alien invaders attack the planet. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. Now it's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered in this epic sci-fi action film.

I loved this movie seen it a couple of months ago. It had a really good storyline and mindblowing action and effects. If you loved independence day, you'll love this.
