Fried Green Tomatoes

(PG)

The secret of life? The secret's in the sauce.

In the tradition of the old Southern storyteller, Fried Green Tomatoes weaves together disparate lives and cherished times. Evelyn is a middle-aged housewife dissatisfied with her life. One day, she meets an elderly lady, Mrs Threadgoode who tells her a story of two young women in the 1939 on a journey through life and love.

A warm, touching and at times greatly amusing tale about the importance of friendship.
Kate Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker, Jessica Tandy, Cicely Tyson, Chris O'Donnell.

This movie is a real hankie movie. From the very beginning it has you in its story telling grip! Kathy is a bored and lonely housewife trying to living up her marriage. On a trip to the nursing home she happens upon an old woman with a story to tell. The story she tells is one which will have you grabbing for the hankies to wipe away the tears. This powerful and moving movie is a classic in its own right and you should watch it, if you haven't yet seen it!!
