The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

(15)

Based on the true story of Anneliese Michel - a young Russian woman. In an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church officially recognised the demonic possession of the 19 year old college freshman. This film is both a riveting courtroom drama and a first class chiller.....

A Catholic priest is on trial for homicidal negligance after performing a failed exorcism on Emily Rose, a devout college girl, now dead from assorted wounds and malnutrition. Opposing Erin Bruner, the priests defense lawyer, is the chief prosecutor, who argues persuasively that Emily was likely suffering from psychotic epilepsy and could have been saved with hospitalization and medicine. The demonic possession unfolds in a series of spine-tingling flashbacks.
More than a criminal negligance case, the trail becomes about the importance of recognizing the limits of rationality and the possibility of a world being beyond the visible.
In portraying the extent to which wildly different belief systems have splintered modern society this film couldn't be more relevant or timely.

An excellent movie, scary, creepy, subtle with no shocks really. Watch this film, if you haven't seen it yet!!!!!!
