Touch by an Angel

Angels are dispatched from heaven to inspire people who are at a crossroads in their lives. Monica (Roma Downey), an angel who at times still needs some guidance with her earthly assignments, reports to Tess (Della Reese), her tough, wise, and always loving supervisor. Joining them is Andrew (John Dye), who, in addition to his duties as the Angel of Death, helps out as a caseworker on various assignments. The angels may not bring answers to every problem, but they always deliver a message of hope. (Valerie Bertinelli)

This is a great TV show and would highly recommend all. This is based of real life events that could happen to anybody, it tells you that you are not alone. It lasted 9 seasons so it shows you that the show did have the following!!!

St Elsewhere

(12)

This hour-long dramatic series featured life at St. Eligius Hospital, headed by Drs. Donald Westphall (Ed Flanders) and Daniel Auschlander (Norman Lloyd). Every year, new residents would walk down the halls of St. Eligius; learning to deal with perfectionist Cardiovascular Surgeon Mark Craig (William Daniels) was only the beginning of the way the hospital and its interesting patients would change their lives forever.

Ed Begley Jr., Howie Mandel, David Morse, Christina Pickles, Denzel Washington, Eric Laneuville, Sagan Lewis.

This was one of the best TV shows of the 80s. Another great medical drama from America. If you like medical dramas then you'll love this one!!!

Chicago Hope

Television medical drama in soap-opera style. Surgeons Jeffrey Geiger (Mandy Patinkin) and Aaron Shutte (Adam Arkin) battle valiantly for their patients, often coming into conflict with the hospital administration, run by Dr. Phillip Watters (Hector Elizondo). Their cases are usually ethically complex, highly sensationalistic, and very melodramatic. Meanwhile, Jeffrey and Aaron, who are best friends, commiserate about the shambles their tumultuous personal lives have become....

Peter Berg, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Jayne Brook, Christine Lahti, Rocky Carroll, Mark Harmon, Thomas Gibson.

This a really good medical drama series, I haven't seen many episodes. But I have seen I thought it was good

Party of Five

(12)

Five siblings (Scott Wolf, Neve Campbell, Matthew Fox, Lacey Chabert, Brandon Porter & Taylor Porter, Andrew Cavarno & Steven Cavarno all four played Owen) are left to fend their own way in the world when their parents are killed by a drunk driver. The series revolves around the struggles of raising each other and the struggles of life in general.

Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jeremy London, Paula Devicq, Scott Grimes.

A great TV show, use to watch this when I was younger. Still watch it from time to time on sky's reruns. If you have seen this then watch it, it is really a great show.

The Oldest brother want to bring up his four younger siblings. It shows there ups and downs trying to keep the family together.

Casualty

(12)

One of the BBC's flagship dramas, Casualty depicts the lives of the patients, doctors, nurses and paramedics attending the frantically busy accident and emergency department of Holby General Hospital. Now approaching its twentieth year on television, this is where it all started: the hard-hitting storylines; the accurate portrayal of life in the casualty department; and that theme tune.

At a time when medical dramas produced in the UK were thin-on-the ground, this was a truly ground-breaking show, often eclipsing equivalent drama programmes from the other side of the pond.

Derek Thompson, Suzanner Packer, Sam Grey, Jane Hazegrove, Tristan Gemmill,
Georgia Taylor, Charles Dale, Sunetra Sarker, Gillian Kearney, Matthew Needham,
Donna Alexander, Richard Dillane, Pal Aron, Clive Mantel.

Love this series, one of my favourites, never miss an episode. The stories themselves are excellent but the key ingredient is the strong ensemble cast. A good solid British drama-well worth a look.

ER

(15)

Michael Crichton has created a medical drama that chronicles life and death in a Chicago hospital emergency room. Each episode tells the tale of another day in the ER, from the exciting to the mundane, and the joyous to the heart-rending. Frenetic pacing, interwoven plot lines, and emotional rollercoastering is used to attempt to accurately depict the stressful environment found there. This show even portrays the plight of medical students in their quest to become physicians.

Noah Wyle, Laura Innes, Laura Ceron, Maura Tierney, Deezer D, Goran Visjic,
Yvette Freeman, Anthony Edwards, Eriq La Salle, Emily Wagner, Alex Kingston,
Lynn A. Henderson, Sherry Stringfield, Mekhi Phifer, Parminder Nagra.

I watch this from time to time, I think its a really good TV show. But only watch it when theirs nothing else on.

The Wonder Years

(12)

This 1988-1993 period dramedy takes place during the turbulent times of the late 1960s and 1970s. The show focuses on Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage), a young teenager living in a quiet middle-class suburb, and his family and friends. Throughout the series' 5-year run, Kevin deals with middle and high school, encounters puberty, has ups and downs with childhood sweetheart Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar), deals with annoying older brother Wayne, and hangs out with geeky-but-lovable Paul (Josh Saviano). The series is told from Kevin's point-of-view through the narration of Daniel Stern.

Jason Hervey, Dan Laurie, Alley Mills, Josh Saviano, Olivia D'Abo.

I loved this when I was growing, still watch the rerun on sky (when there on that is) thought it was really great.

Crossroads

(PG)

In its day Crossroads was one of television's most popular and enduring soap operas. The sets may have wobbled at times, but many of its characters went on to become icons of popular culture. This eight-disc set includes some of the earliest surviving episodes, as well as examples from many memorable storylines including Sandy's (Roger Tonge) accident, Meg's (Noele Gordon) wedding and the shooting of David Hunter (Ronald Allen)...

Elsie Kelly, Susan Hanson, Paul Henry.

Wasn't a big fan of Crossroads, had to watch when I was growing up because my mum & dad loved it. They never missed and episode. Most of the time I went to my bedroom because I didn't want to watch it!!!

(12)

The saga of the wealthy Ewing family - patriarch Jock Ewing (Jim Davis), who started Ewing Oil, the family corporation; Miss Ellie (Barbara Bel Geddes), his wife who properly managed Southfork Ranch, the family home; and their three sons - J.R. (Larry Hagman), the ruthless CEO of Ewing Oil, married to former Miss Texas Sue Ellen Shepard (Linda Gray); Bobby (Patrick Duffy), the nice guy, who married Pamela Barnes (Victoria Principal), daughter of the Ewing's chief business rival (Ken Kerchevel); and Gary (Ted Shackelford), considered an outcast by his father, who eventually moved to California with his wife Valene (Joan Van Ark).

Priscilla Presley, Steve Kanaly, Charlene Tilton, Howard Keel, Susan Howard, Dack Rambo.

I use watch Dallas in the 80's and thought it was really great. Watching all the dirty dealings of JR and all his affairs. This series was great to watch.

Supernatural

(15)

22 years ago, John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) awoke in the middle of the night to find his wife, Mary (Samantha Smith) , pinned to the ceiling, bleeding from the stomach, and set aflame. He managed to get his sons, 4-year-old Dean (Ridge Canipe) and six-month old Sam (Colin Ford), out of the house, but Mary was killed leaving John devastated and determined for revenge against the supernatural thing that killed her. Present day, John has raised his sons to fight supernatural forces. Demons, ghosts, even cryptologic creatures. However, they can't find the thing that killed Mary. With his constant clashes with his father, Sam becomes disenchanted with the hunter's lifestyle, and goes away to college, where he falls in love with a girl named Jessica Moore. After years of estrangement, Dean (Jensen Ackles) shows up at Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Jess' (Adrianne Palicki) one night to ask for Sam's help to look for their father who had gone missing during a "hunting trip". At first, Sam is reluctant to be roped back into the world of hunting and prefers his "safe" normal life he had managed to make for himself with Jess, but when he finds Jess dead through the same M.O. as their mother, he sets out with Dean to find their father by following any supernatural leads they can find across the country, hoping they track him down.

Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Genevieve Cortese, Samantha Ferris, Katie Cassidy, Lauren Cohan.

This is one of the best TV series ever. Its fun, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. And the lads are to die for. I would recommend this to anyone so start watching it.

Charmed

(15)

In Charmed, the three Halliwell sisters have accepted their destiny of protecting the innocent and vanquishing evil doers, even though that is generally not on the agenda of every twenty-something on the fast track to discovering what life's all about.

Prue (Shannen Doherty), the oldest, is driven to succeed and dislikes the free-spirited antics of the youngest sister Phoebe (Alyssa Milano). Piper (Holly Marie Combs), the earthy middle sister, mediates between her siblings. Prue has the power to move objects, Piper to freeze time and Phoebe to see the future. The sisters must band together to protect themselves, and the world, from the dark, demonic forces that seek to destroy them.

Brian Krause, Dorian Gregory, Julian McMahon, Jason Simmons, Kristopher Simmons, Drew Fuller, Rebecca Balding, Ted King, Greg Vaughan, Jennifer Rhodes, Michael Bailey Smith.

My children are a big fan of Charmed, they have the full box set. I have seen some of the episode but not all of them. But what I have seen I have enjoyed watching them. My children said that it was better one Rose McGowan joined the series. But I seen no difference, Shannen Doherty was just as good. If you magical or fantasy you will love this!!!

Ghost Whisperer

(12)

Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) inherited her "gift" -- the ability to see and talk with the spirits of dead people -- from, and was coached it its use by her grandmother. Carmryn Manheim, Jay Mohr, Aisha Tyler, Christopher Sanders, Tyler Patrick Jones, Jamie Kennedy.

The series is so fantastic, I have seen every episode so far. I have watched all 5 series so far cant wait for no 6. Mind i did notice one thing , looks like Jennifer has been on a diet, shame she looked great before, now she's to thin!!

SeaQuest DSV

(12)

By the mid-21st Century, humankind has colonized the oceans and formed the UEO--the United Earth Oceans--as a military organization to police it. Formerly a high-ranking member of the UEO, Nathan Bridger retired after the death of his wife, and retreated to an isolated island to study dolphins. An attempt is made to hijack the Seaquest DSV, the UEO's most powerful undersea vessel, and Nathan--its original designer--is convinced to return to active service, to assume command of it. His second in command is Cmdr. Jonathan Ford. In second season, the DSV added Dagwood, a prototype GELF (Genetically Engineered Life Form), Tony Piccolo, a man with surgically implanted gills, and Dr. Wendy Smith, a telepath/empath, to its crew of specialists. The series has New Age leanings, often presenting stories that deal with environmental issues or mix myth and mysticism--from ghosts to "gods"--into its science fiction.

Jonathan Brandis, Don Franklin, Ted Raimi, Marco Sanchez, Peter Deluise, Kathy Evison, Edawrd Kerr, Frank Welker.

I use to love this underwater sea drama , all in all a great show & a must have for anyone who wants to remember those Saturday tea time in the early 90's.

The Waltons

(PG)

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, during the Great Depression, the Walton family (Jon Walmsley, Mary Beth McDonough, Eric Scott, Judy Norton-Taylor, David W. Harper, Kami Cotler, Ralph Waite, Michael Learned, Will Geer, Ellen Corby, Richard Thomas, Ronnie Claire Edwards, Leslie Winston) makes its small income from its saw mill on Walton's Mountain. The story is told through the eyes of John Boy, who wants to be a novelist, goes to college, and eventually fulfills his dream. The saga follows the family through depression and war, and through growing up, school, courtship, marriage, employment, birth, aging, illness and death.

Earl Hamner Jr., Joe Conley, Mary Jackson, Helen Kleeb, Michael Reed, Mashall Reed.

Another favourite from my childhood, I still watch the reruns when on TV. Much better than so much television for children produced these days. Good traditional family and neighbourhood values of caring for each other through thick and thin. Strong characters, someone for everyone to identify with. An excellent TV series!!!

What great memories of the eighties, a great top TV show, never missed an episode!!!

Fantasy Island

(PG)

Fantasy Island is a resort, where there is very little that the host, Mr. Roarke (Ricardo Montalban) cannot provide. Thus we have visitors have adventures in fantasies that should be impossible, but this island can accommodate them such as visits to any time period they want, meet absolutely anyone they see to do something they request such as getting William Shakespeare to write a play for them. The only constant (until the final season) was at the sight of the incoming visitors, the Mr. Roarke's midget assistant runs up to the bell tower to ring the bell and shout "De plane!, De plane!"

(Herve Villechaize)

This programme brings back happy memories as I am sure it will for many. When I was young watching this I remember I would have liked to live on that magical island like this one. An Excellent TV series!!!

The Little House on the Prairie

(PG)

A long-running drama based upon the "Little House" series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, "Little House on the Prairie" follows the lives of the simple, farming Ingalls family: Charles (Michael Landon), Caroline (Karen Grassle), Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson), Laura (Melissa Gilbert), Carrie (Lindsay Greenbush & Sidney Greenbush)and then Grace (Wendi Turnbaugh & Brenda Turnbaugh) and the later adopted Albert (Matthew Laborteaux), James (Jason Bateman) and Cassandra (Missy Francis), who settle into a quaint little house on the banks of Plum Creek near the small town of Walnut Grove during the late 1800s. Often narrated by Laura, the series follows her simple farm upbringing from her childhood until her adulthood with Almanzo Wilder (Dean Butler) with whom she starts a family of her own. While the series is based upon the Little House books (and thus the real life of author Laura Ingalls Wilder), it is a very loose adaptation, with mostly only key events and elements of fact surviving the transition from book to TV series, the most important being Mary's eventual blindness, and Laura's future. Several other fictitious (some factual) characters make up the friendly community of Walnut Grove, including teacher Miss Beadle (succeeded by two other teachers, then Laura, then Etta Plum Leslie Landon), Dr. Hiram Baker (Keving Hagen), Rev. Robert Alden (Dabbs Greer), Mr. Hanson (Karl Swenseon) (of the Hanson lumber mill), and the well-to-do Olesons, owners of the local mercantile, and also the primary rivals of the Ingalls family (except the Oleson (Scottie MacGregor, Richard Bull, Jonathan Gilbert & Alison Arngrim) patriarch). Family friends include the Edwards family, the Garvey family and the Carters, who, in the final season, move into the Ingalls' little house.

Watched every episode when I was growing up, use to be on Sunday mornings, never missed an episode, will have to buy them all on dvd one day. As this was one of my favourite shows!!!

The Osbournes

(18)

Each episode shows us scenes from the real life of a typical multimillionaire middle-aged heavy-metal rock star with two teenagers, a shopaholic wife that's the real head of the house, a large stable of unruly pets, and some of the many people they meet up with. Events include teen daughter Kelly secretly getting a tattoo; run-ins with noisy neighbors; and preparations for a concert tour.

Sharon Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne.

Excellent entertainment, have all series on DVD. Really hilarious had my husband and I in stitches.

How did you find my blog?
